The industry opening of Canada’s first Net Zero Energy home was hosted in Reid’s Heritage Homes’ Westminster Woods community, where four more Net Zero homes will eventually be built.

Moving forward, Sherwood Homes’ goal is to continue keeping their promises – especially in the Georgian Bay, where they see a lot of potential, even beyond their current offering. “If we notice a trend in some of the upgrades or selections that people are electing to do, we may adapt those changes as standard,” Jennifer explains. The other communities on offer at the Georgian Bay New Home Centre have also been received well. For Sherwood Homes, those include the ‘Royal Windsor’ in Collingwood, and ‘Cobble Beach’ in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Welcome to Cobble Beach, Georgian Bay's most extraordinary golf resort community located just minutes from Owen Sound. A medieval castle with many towers and bay windows sits on a basalt hilltop high above the town of Braunfels. Over the centuries, its enthusiastic owners kept adding new Baroque and Gothic revival elements, creating a distinctive fairy tale castle in the Middle Hesse region.
Members of the homebuilding industry and municipality, as well as project partners were in attendance to celebrate the big day. The Royal Windsor is a five-storey condominium perfect for those with an active outdoor lifestyle, while Cobble Beach is a waterfront golf resort community set on 574 acres of uniquely rich and diverse landscape. The Royal Windsor will start construction this summer, while a number of purchasers already live at Cobble Beach. Again, Jennifer says the feedback from residents there has been exceedingly positive.
Over 1,500 people attended Take a Ride for MacKids to support the efforts. Families enjoyed face painting, helicopter and midway rides, and a silent auction. Children had fun safely exploring a combine, trucks and other large machinery. On June 18, 2017, Reid’s Heritage Homes raised the largest sum to date at its second annual Take a Ride for MacKids family event in Cambridge, Ontario. The new clinic will feature the latest technology and state-of-the-art medical equipment to care for children who are born with kidney disease or who develop acute kidney issues. They spearheaded Caring for Little Kidneys, a fundraising program created to raise $650,000 to redevelop the clinic.
